Why The Easy Composter

The Easy Composter Bin is a commercially made compost tumbler that can hold organic matter for decomposition which results into the production of organic fertilizer. You can add just about anything that is biodegradable  ranging from green and brown plant matter, kitchen scraps, grass clippings, egg shells and even animal excrement’s or chicken manure. You can mix them altogether, making sure that they are evenly mixed before adding an activator.

We recommend that you put into your compost pile a good amount of compost activator since they are helpful in the proper and expeditious composting process of your mix. They are helpful in jump-starting its decomposition process because it can provide the needed amount of nutrient for putrefaction process, which is usually nitrogen. Microbes found in your moist pile of organic matter needed sufficient amounts of nitrogen to properly break down the biodegradable matter you have in your compost.

Our compost tumblers come in two selections, galvanized and Colorbond bin finish. The Colorbond rotating compost binfinish is an Australian technology specifically designed to endure and outlast the extremity of Australian weather conditions. It combines the Zincalume’s corrosion resistance properties with the durability of an oven baked paint finish. Alternatively, it also comes available in galvanized finish. Galvanized metal has undergone chemical treatments which will keep it from corroding. It is coated with double layers of zinc oxide to make it resistant against rust build up.  Additionally, a tumbler made from galvanized metal finish does not easily scratch, thus making the product even more durable and long lasting.

You may see reference to compost tumblers and rotating compost bins and wondering if they are the same thing? They sure are, the common reference point being “rotating” and “tumblers” meaning the compost can be rotated or tumbled providing a better quality of compost for your garden.

Compost Tumbler Science

What You Get Out of Your Easy Composter

By composting your biodegradable wastes, you cut down on your household garbage by half the amount. Instead of throwing them all away in your trash bin, you re-use them instead by converting them into an organic fertilizer that is beneficial to your outdoor and indoor plants.

In summary here are the benefits of using the Easy Composter:

  • You are re-enriching your garden soil by putting back nutrients to it that can be derived from your organic fertilizer. The organic fertilizer produced by the compost tumbler contains nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium.
  • The compost makes garden soil in your backyard a haven for earthworms because they will be attracted to the compost pile you are mixing the earth with. Earthworms are beneficial to plants since they plow the ground naturally, thus leaving holes that allow passage of air and loosens stiff soil. This allows the plant to grow more roots and have a firm hold of the earth.
  • You reduce the amount of your household wastes being thrown in the garbage, cutting it down to half the original amount.
  • You instill discipline to your household members to be cautious about their waste disposal practices, making them aware that biodegradable wastes can still be used productively by using the compost from your bin.
  • Your compost acts as a natural soil conditioner and helps in having a natural pH balance of soil moisture. If garden soil is too acidic, your plants and herbs will not yield much to their full potential.
  • You help reduce the need for a landfill. Indiscriminate disposal of garbage collected from urban areas are primarily composed of biodegradable materials. If this volume of garbage is cut by half, the space needed for a landfill can be minimized.

The ill effects of pesticides in soil may not show immediately, but certainly there is danger in eating insecticide contaminated yields from your own garden. After all it is not good to jeopardize one’s health all because we prefer to eat what our backyard garden yields.   Until we learned from our own research that there are alternative options when it comes to gardening, and the most healthful and environment-friendly way to do this is by using organic fertilizer. This is the type of fertilizer that can be produced by the Easy Composter.

  • When I was just starting out a garden of my own in my backyard and planting on there a couple of important herbs and some vegetables I used to spray insecticides on them to keep the pestering insects at bay. Little did I know that these chemical-based insecticides remain on my garden yields and posing a danger to my family since we are consuming whatever harvest we get from it. This is very alarming to me then, because only God knows what kind health issues we might contract from consuming insecticide contaminated vegetables. I have seen many compost bins advertised but nothing comes close to the quality and durability of the Easy Composter, Thankyou!
